Dia-Compe has re-introduced their lovely non-aero Gran Compe brake levers. You may remember that "Gran Compe" was the designation for their top of the line components. The levers have a smooth silver anodized finish and neat barrel adjustors with O-rings.

Superb!

Bought these to accompany changing the drop bar on my venerable ’72 Motobecane Grand Record over to a VO Postino. Enjoying the more upright posture thus gained (VO Quill Stem Adapter helps too!) and these new brake levers finish the conversion very well!

I Have Gran Compe 202 Levers on 3 Bikes - the best!

The Gran Compe 202 non-aero brake levers are my favorite of many I have used over the past 40 years. A solid all metal body with a beautiful satin finish on the hand lever, and an excellent feel rubber cover that appears to last forever.

In addition, these brake levers have excellent braking feel with both classic single pivot calipers, and with modern double pivot calipers. I hope Velo Orange is able to continue stocking these brake levers forever! My go-to recommendation for anyone needing non-aero brake levers.

Cable Pull

I recently installed Shimano Mini-Vee brakes on an older tandem with drop bars and road levers . They were difficult to adjust . I tried two different levers without much improvement. I measured the cable pull and discovered pulls of 15mm and less. I measured the pull of a set of Gran Compes on another machine and found 20mm. I ordered and installed a set of Gran Compes and the problem was solved.

Swell product

Got a second hand second-hand Royal H Cycles randonneur build. Fit the aesthetic perfectly and preforms well!

Just what I needed

These brake levers are exactly what I needed to complete the rebuild of my 1973 Nishiki Competition. The original Dia-Compe levers on the bike had “safety” levers I can do without, and the hoods were in very bad shape. The new levers are very high quality and look great!
