Many people have asked us where they can get old-fashioned city bike levers, the type that CLB and Mafac and a dozen other companies used to make.

We found what is probably the best model that fits in with those classic styles. They are all alloy with good quality castings and a nice shiny finish. They use a stainless steel clamp. These levers work with caliper and cantilever brakes, but not V-brakes.

Best of all, they are available in both MTB (22.2mm) and road bar (23.8mm) sizes, so you won't have to scour eBay or the back rooms of old bike shops looking for vintage levers.

Levers include the button-type cable housing ends, but if you want a barrel adjustor, grab these from Dia-Compe.

 Sold as a pair.

Units as Advertised

Ran these on some drop bars as "crosstop" style levers. No hoods, just these. So you can only brake from the tops or the ramps of bars. Off road/descents gotta use the tops. Major compromise. Not a performance setup. But this was the point-it is a fashion/nostalgia/deliberate "chill only" rig. With the "too long" reach on a dirtdrop MTB, the hoods position stunk for fit anyway. These things are not hi-perf units, but I tested em descending fire roads, loaded.

Simple, Effective

Simple, effective and best of all - very affordable. Exactly what I was looking for when converting my 1990's tandem from drop bars and I needed new classic style brake levers.

VERY NICE GENERIC LEVERS

Not elegant but still understated and functional. I mounted these on some Wald 803 bars. They work fine for what I needed them for. I would purchase them again.
