A triple is a must for many cycle-tourists and randonneurs. Here is a durable and stylish triple crankset ready to take on any hills.

Cold forged from 7075 aluminum alloy. The rings are thicker so they don't flex as on classic cranks. The outer rings have modern shifting aids such as ramps and pins, so shifting performance is much improved. All stainless hardware with allen head nuts/bolts. Includes aluminum machined dust caps and BB bolts. Dust caps function as self extracting crank hardware.

Specs:

  • Teeth:  48/34/24
  • BCD: 110 mm, 74 mm
  • Q Factor: 160mm
  • Speeds: 6-10 compatible
  • Taper: JIS square taper
  • BB Size: 124mm for most bikes
  • Pedal Threading: 9/16"

Heavy Sigh!

This crankset is a well designed, perfectly executed product manufactured by craftspeople who obviously care about high quality and a pleasing aesthetic.

Long live triples!!!

This is a very fine component. I hope VO continues to offer it despite the flight to one-bys that seems to be dominating the market. Even compacts are outdated these days. But for randonneuring, a triple can't be beaten. After 120 miles, that next upgrade deserves the ultra low gear you've been saving for that moment, and keeping the spin steady for many miles of slightly changing topography means small steps between gears. Try finding that with the latest and greatest.

Grand Cru 110 Triple Crankset

They arrived safely & quickly.
The quality looks great. No surprises there.
The recommended BB spindle (already on my bike) is too short. But no big deal. All frames are different. And I could use a new BB anyway.
I’m sure they’ll be great once mounted & dialled.

Love this triple.

Having had no issues with the VO fluted double crankset that I had installed on my road bike several years ago, I thought I'd give the triple a try after damaging the Sugino crankset that came stock on my SURLY Long Haul Trucker. The 68-124 VO bottom bracket that was suggested for the install was not in stock so I went with an Origin8 68-122 BB. No problem! Installation of the triple was very easy. The Surly has a Shimano Tiagra front derailleur that I thought might not work well with the 24-tooth chainring difference between the large and small chainring. All that was required was a few adjustments on the lower limit screw and it shifts fine. No issues. I can't wait to get out on the road with the new setup!
